JD Music Composition and Arrangements

Color and Light celebrates the music of Stephen Sondheim with the artistic genius of Georges Seurat. Both Sondheim and Seurat's meticulous attention to detail using only primary dots of color and sound, make this work truly unique in the history of art and musical theatre. The show opens with a 5 note piano, mallet theme heard throughout the presentation moving quickly into the song "Color and Light". "Move On" again opens with the familiar 5 note theme and then a full band rendition of this beautiful ballad. The final movement is "Putting It Together" which is the whole idea behind the show as a painting slowly comes together in the end. The show ends with the simple statement:
White, an empty page. So many Possibilities.
