Although these arrangements are available for anyone to purchase and download, it is a much cheaper alternative to custom arrangements since the copyright permissions are already a part of the price. About Licensing a Custom Show Choir or Marching Band Arrangement
I write many custom arrangements every year. These are arrangements are specific and unique to your ensemble and no one else will be performing them for that season. They include your groups name at the top in recognition of the commission. Before I can deliver an arrangement, you are required to obtain “permission to license” from the copyright holder using a site like TRESONA MUSIC or reaching out directly to the copyright holder. Some arrangements take days or even weeks to license (and others are simply declined by the copyright holder). The process is very simple and most of the time very quick. The cost of licensing a song is typically between $180 to $350 but some can be much more. The cost of licensing is not included in the price of the arrangement I write and is your responsibility as the purchaser. As you approach your upcoming season, start this process early so you are not waiting for approval before you can to begin rehearsing the arrangement.
